Something interesting to note about this hen is her beak. It has been "tipped" - a process where the baby chick's beak is held for a moment to a red hot iron, before being tossed onto a conveyor belt with countless others. Overcrowded factory chickens tear themselves and each other to shreds if their naturally sharp-pointed beaks are not burned off early in their short lives.
